gday jon, about time i joined up,i know it seems like the old dart could be the spiritual home of the lc, with parts etc,but its good to be on home ground were i can understand the slang and all that, some of the UK humour is lost on me,mainly cause i dont understand some of it,i didnt look to hard here at home for parts after a run in with a local dealer who tried to justify why i should pay 3 times more from them for parts than i should from O/S,practically blamed the global financial crisis on me, anyway such is life.
doc the rear tyre is the stock size, it must be the angle of the photo. Im not sure if anybody remembers about 12 months ago but a 350lc was on ebay with just over 7000K's on it and passed in from memory around $7500, well lets just say i could have bought it for less than what this will cost me all up, but i know every nut, bolt, washer etc on this, see ya

32quid shipped Ken? wow... I need a seat cover for my 85, theirs looks good too. hmmm

LOL, dont worry about the crazy dealers, stuff them if they dont want to realise that the Au$ goes a long ways these days when you shop OS.

Ahhh well as an ex-Pom i guess the humour in there seems ok to me, but each forum has its own vibe and this seems like a nice small community and Ive met a number of the players who have all been great guys. :)

gday jon, i love some of the humour, but its the slang, things like doggy doodles and similar i have to think about it to much and lose the spontaniety of it, its a great site and most answers to question come quickly, i imagine its a bit slower here but there are a lot more members over there, i still have my guilliano cover, but i think i would like to get another seat base so i can have one of each, the 32 pound cover is pretty good quality i think, see ya
i finally got my new rad cover, the 1st one got crushed beyond recognition somehow but this one arrived safe and sound, got all my money back so no big deal but took over a month to get sorted.Image

LOL dogs danglies indeed... haha! :D

Interesting to see what you do with your gully cover. if you dont do that and later want to ditch it let me know, I might get another as a spare for mine.

I still am amazed they did that cover for 32quid incl post, they cant be earning much after sending it here LOL

nice rad cover, good work m8.

Ken, spoke to the seat cover people, they seem like a good crowd and were bemused when i queried the 'incl post' price, but I wasnt sure and had been a bit burnt on ebay before. So ive ordered one for my ypvs... 32quid incl post seems like great value to me.

put the barrels into Serco on thursday lunch time and picked them up friday, look good, all i have to do now is get my crank up to the the crank guy out side of toowoomba and start to re-assemble, i need a few little things like a water pump shaft bearing and seal but mostly have everything i need, its a great feeling being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel especially when i thought i had seen it on about 1/2 dozen previous occasions, Jon in regards to my guiliano seat cover i will hang onto it as i asked a member here if they had a spare seat for sale and he said yes,(thanks Doc). One question if i may, How do you break in your new piston and rings? see ya

no worries on the seat cover Ken, was just idly thinking... I may well buy a spare of the repro ones anyway, I cant see the stock lasting forever.

Break in... Thats a huge can of worms... everyone has different ideas on how best to run in a 2 stroke. I tend to like heat cycles, and run it for short amounts and stop it and vary the revs a lot for the first few hundred kms, but after that its usually ok, but for the first 500 i watch the temp and vary the throttle more than i would if it was a normal used bike.
