Has anyone used the new PPSR? it replaces REVS

Post by JonW »

Seems that REVS is dead and now PPSR is the new hip n trendy thing for anyone wanting to know if their new purchase is stolen or belongs to a finance company.... but.... has anyone used it?

I tried one of my spare frame numbers in it and it immediately wanted $3.70 to tell me the info... i figured that was cool and good value, but... hold on... what if i added my ccard details and it then dinged the money, yet said 'nothing found' cos the bike has been off the road for too many years.. that wouldnt stop it being stolen or 'not mine' in the eyes of the law, its just 'not in the system'....

Anyone used it and it not dinged them $$$ for a 'null' result?

JOn, it says in the first couple of lines;
"A fee will apply to searches of the PPSR regardless of the search result"
So id be tipping you'll do ya $3.70 no matter what.
Ahhh revenue raising, gotta love it.

ahh... the old RTFM LOL Cheers Pete!

Sigh... youre so right mate, as usual the govt isnt helping us, seems this is a new stealth tax... :(

Im also thinking if i ring the cop helpline and read them numbers they wont help me either, I had to force the RTA to help me years ago with a bike i bought and it was such hard work i never bothered again. so seems i just rego and hope the cops dont visit cos someone nicked it years ago... :/
