What performance from standard 350LC ?
Re: What performance from standard 350LC ?
Think a set of carbs might solve your probs Hybrid why not a set of 4x28mm pwk's?.Dont want to sound like Im putting fuel injection down or your bike but seems like a real hassle.

Changing jets on a 500 is also a real hassle. Something I'll never have to worry about.
Any project bike has its teething issues. Carbs would not solve fuel atomising!

Is that a common prob with the 500's?

Having to change jets?
Nah, its just that there are 4 carbs to do, and its not an easy job to get them off on a standard bike. But obviously when you build a bike with many mods, you're going to have to play with jets to get it right. So getting the injection set up right is no different, except I don't have to remove anything to do it.
And fuel atomisation would have happened either with carbs or EFI. The problem is mostly that the VFR tank has the pick up at the rear, so the supply line has to travel towards the front of the bike over the top of the top pipes. In traffic when there is no air flow through there, I think the fuel line is getting hot enough to evaporate the fuel from the line.

Re: What performance from standard 350LC ?
carbs fitted with air soleniods(rgv/nsr/tzr) can be connected to a zeeltronic which you can vary the duty on the soleniod any amount between 0-100%. Want more fuel just trim back the air and vice versa at any point in the rev range. You can also add a lot of over rev this way to.No jets to touch either.hybrid wrote:Having to change jets?

Then link PV to TPS to Ign to RPM to fueling

Re: What performance from standard 350LC ?
Nice... I've already got the Zeeltronic for PV and timing.

I like that idea call me old fashioned but carbs for me are workable .Yeah I understand the pain in four carbs ive got four on the gsxr however being in line and on a rack certainly makes it easier, however not in your case.
Have you tried moving the fuel pickup? maybe tap into the tank closer to the manifolds.
Have you found the Pwks on your Lc perform well, what would one expect if they were fitted.
Im thinking of keeping the airbox and using the Lc stuffers.

PWK's were a big benefit to my LC.
Throttle response is much better, and a bit more top end also.
My LC is not standard, but you will certainly notice a difference even on a standard one.

The new PDCI-21 is the go, that has all the bells and whistles, switchable 2 curve ignition, flatshifter, soleniod control, 5 stored PV mapsetc etc etc.hybrid wrote:Nice... I've already got the Zeeltronic for PV and timing.
Connected one to a Kawi triple and without doing anything else got an extra 1500 rpm on top. Even with the $hitter Denco pipes.

Re: What performance from standard 350LC ?
An LC only has a STATIC CDI in it, so the ignition is not varied at all through the rev range. That's why you get such a benefit from the Zeeltronic out of the box on an LC.
It also means you only have to buy one half of the Zeeltronic kit. You only need to buy the VCDI portion and not the CDI portion.
On the RZ/YPVS you need both, because it already has a curve in the standard CDI, which means you can't use it directly with the VCDI. The Zeeltronic CDI (like the LC one) has no curve.
DOC03, yes we're talking about programmable ignition (Zeeltronic) and the PWK28 carbs you can get from a Kawasaki KR1/KR1S.

Re: What performance from standard 350LC ?
The banshee is a quad bike with an engine based on the RZ engine, but without powervalves in the cylinders.
The banshee bottom end will bolt straight into the LC and RZ.
They are getting big power from these engines with big bores and stroker kits.
If I had the spare money to throw around, I'd look at one... or an engine from the two stroke shop who are building a similar engine, but with a butt load more of the latest technology in it.

Re: What performance from standard 350LC ?
I've spent a bit of money on both my strokers. The YZR rep probably owes me over $20k in total, and that was doing everything myself, except building the frame.
I preferred riding them both to my SP1 (which I have now sold) even though the SP1 was an awesome bike. You just can't beat the fun of a 2Stroke.
So I don't have an issue spending money on them... the fun factor is well worth it.
I've got a spare set of Carbon end cans waiting to go on the LC.
Lozza, how much for a set of LC pipes?
