Ditching fairings on TZR250

Post by zetaplus »

Hey guys, been off the bike for a little while due to family issues, but I've decided to get my TZR250 going again. Just wondering, has anyone had any success in getting rid of the fairings themselves? I am looking at a single round headlight, and wondering how people go about mounting them up? Cheers.

Hey dude, it's a 2MA/1KT. They are the original fairings I think? They're not in the best of nick though as prior to my buying the bike it was painted (badly) and put down lightly. There's also some cracks and broken clips. Are you able to check the width of your headlight, and also chuck up a pic or two of your headlight/indicator assembly and the brackets used? Cheers!!

You always do a good job on the customs Twinrock. Now that I have you attention, you need to throw some photos of the DT200 up on the other forum, we want to see it. :)

on my 2ma/1kt street fighter, it simply uses two 25mm wide, 4 or 5mm thick strips of aliminium which are bent to the desired shape to attach the guage cluster to the top triple clamp.

shouldnt take any more than an afternoon to rig something like that up :)

if you want to ditch you fairings let me know if you want to sell them

no worries, Ill have a good think about it and then will get in touch.

need to decide whether I want to keep it as a mean looking streetfighter, or return it to look OEM std but with the 421 motor lurking bellow.
