Anyone with a photo of a good 85 RZ250 front guard bracket ?
Hi All. Just repairing the front guard of my RZ250 and noticed that the aluminium bracket is a bit messed up.
Wondered if there are any photos or even better dimensioned drawings of the bracket?
Or a member with a good one that would be prepared to let me have a look in situ? Photo of my bracket attached.

that looks like itd clean up with sanding disc, then some wet and dry and polish

the following 4T propaganda was brought to you by your local 2T lobby group...
"whats that youve got there?... a 450? "
yeah...
"what cereal packet did that come out of? "
huh?...
"I just wanted to know, because theres nothing worse than finding a piece of shit in the bottom of your corn flakes. "

Wicked do a thicker version of these if you wanted something that would firm up the front end a bit.

Thanks Jon. I saw these on another forum but am not convinced that billet everything is the way to go. Had a chat to a mate today about making a die to be able to form them (he is a toolmaker) in a press as they seem to be made of unobtainium new and it looks like it might be easy...

ok, no worries, just didnt know if you had seen them.

fred, mine is identical on the TZR, so if your making an upgraded bracket/brace, I'll take one
If your able to, Ill take some measurements to confirm fitment first though
PS: your endoscope came in very handy today trying to fit a flywheel with a very fiddly woodruff key that just would'nt stay in place. Ill bring it back on the weekend.

Hi Jeram. I can drop the bracket around if you like and we can compare it.
My mate the toolmaker reckons it will be a doddle to tool up for a manually made bracket, and it would probably be a it thicker and laser cut.
Just need to get my head around the compound curve.
Loctite or grease on the woodruff key or turn the slot vertical? Glad to hear that it came in useful. First real use I have heard from it.

Yeah, it was just another TSS issue. Their smaller stator had such as small ID that I had to put the woodruff key in though sideways to clear the stator, then rotate it and then drop it into place. haha
sounds like a plan mate
if you can get them done thicker with a nice external finish there is no reason why you couldnt offer them for sale as a cheaper alternative to the billet $100 versions for people who are either tight arses, or want an OEM look
even if you cant work out the exact compound curve, I've got CAD so it will be a peice of cake to make a new compound curve thats close to what it should be.
