What about a track day

Post by EPApolice »

Any interest in a track day  , Probably have to be Wakefield park because Eastern Creek is fully booked for months. Something like what Practical Sportsbikes mag in the UK run for older bikes but we could just do it for strokers. Wakefield would also be better because the straight is shorter so less chance of siezing/ blowing up :? . I think we could even get some media interest, I could make a call and see what could be done.

One piece leathers are cheap now. I got a set of Berik ones with the hump at the back for $540 from Actions earlier in the year. They fit really well unlike the last more expensive set.

If we get a group of us together we should be able to negotiate a package to get a discount on a Wakefield Park Extreme ride day.
Canberra Riders Forum did just that.

We have some contacts in the media through the VJMC that are sympathetic to the stroker/ classic cause, not saying it will happen but we have a good chance of getting a feature in a mag. We can forget about getting our own private track day and therfore will be booking through the organised events. Eastern Creek is booked up solid for months and I know because I tried to book last month and was looking at around christmas.
Some guys on the VJMC have expressed interest so we may have to have a few diesels also. I think if we can get around 15-20 bikes we will have some good leverage.

Thats right wasn't Dave Stone going to start running his days again down there, at least that was the rumour a few years ago. Has anyone been on that track?

Ok we have between this forum and the VJMC got 10-12 people interested at this stage. Looking like the new year for a date but now we need to sort how how we book it. We could pick a date at say Wakefield and then rely on everyone booking their spot individually or one person collects the money and then books it as a group in one hit. Obviously the first option is bad because of the could of, would of, should of but never did attitude but the second means you need to give your money to someone you dont know and or trust. Open to suggestions to make it happen. Has anyone made a group booking before.

Ok, so now christmas has come and gone there should be no more excuses. I have been doing a few at the Creek over the last few months and apart from me there has one been one other stroker each time. The new part of the track lends itself perfectly to the small bikes also.
I have just purchased a 4DP and have been having flogging that out there. I am going again on the 19 of Feb if anyone is interested.
