Group buy from Japan - RG500 / RZ500 ??
Re: Group buy from Japan - RG500 / RZ500 ??
Thanks Peet, I've seen that site. They have a few nice examples on there.
The problem with the 3XV is they were never imported to Aust so any 3xv you import is purely for racing or parts. Lucky for me I have one thats Aust complienced but there isn't many 3xv's here at all, including mine I am aware of 5, one is over in WA which was bought in QLD the other three are here in Melb as well as mine.
The 1KT, 2MA and 2MY models don't really fetch much here as they are fairly ordinary in standard tune.
Almost forgot the 3MA's, I can't say that I've seen a 3MA here ever! I have seen a few reverse cylinder TZ's though.

Re: Group buy from Japan - RG500 / RZ500 ??
Thanks Peet, appreciate the help.
Had my customs friend advise on a few issues - and raise a few more.
Some of his comments as follows based on individual ownership of the bikes prior to shipping from Japan;
_
You would have to get a vehicle import approval for each individual bike in the shipment from the relevant government dept. please see the following web link for more information:
http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/ ... index.aspx
The bikes will have to be steam cleaned prior to export – please see the web link to the AQIS Import Conditions site for more information:
http://www.aqis.gov.au/icon32/asp/ex_ca ... essionID=0
In regard to storage before shipment, I can set you up with a freight forwarder who specialises in Japan traffic.
If you were going to do it as a group import it would have to be done on separate House Bills Of Lading so that each one would mention the correct owner as the consignee. The name on the Vehicle Import Approval has to match with the consignee name on the Bill Of Lading. Hence just getting one FCL container and putting a whole lot of people’s bikes in it would not work unless we could coordinate it well with the freight forwarder. In any case the container would have to be unpacked at a licensed AQIS and Customs depot and AQIS officers would do the inspection there.
__
So, I have gone back to him and asked what the implications are if I were to buy the bikes as the owner and then onsell at no profit to individuals...
Still no reply from the Japanese end - I will re-send emails today.

I'd be interested in a TZR 3MA 250

Re: Group buy from Japan - RG500 / RZ500 ??
Here is some light reading. The powers that be do make it sound hard to get these things in.
I investigated doing this a couple of years ago but realized you either need someone you can trust in Japan to over see everything that needs to be done before departure or you need to be there your self.

Yeah is up to 94cents against the US dollar which has no bearing on the AUD v's Yen. We have to be almost or preferably wa OVER 100Yen to the $ to make it worthwhile. When I look if the AUD goes up against the YEN it's down against the greenback(see I'm a financial guru
), I dunno how it all works but that's what seems to happen.
