Re: RZ500
So, it will never be ridden. So SAD!
Re: RZ500
Wow, amazed these things keep popping up.
If I was a self made millionaire I'd have it, but its hard to work out who the buyer would be. Do these crated bikes do the rounds into infinity, being discovered then put into one collection then the next?
Would be a strange display piece, a big box. I'd be tempted to take the speedo cable out and take it for a ride every night before slipping it back in the packet!

Ex UK, now in Adelaide. LC250/350. DT175. Shed full of sh1t in the vague form of dismantled rusty RD’s and RZ’s.

Wow, that's a rare find for sure and yep no one's going to buy that to ride it - it will never ever be started, quite bizzare when you stop and think about it. These bikes weren't even that popular and I'm sure at one stage you could hardly give them away - and now? Wish it was easy to predict what we should buy today and store away for the next 30yrs...

Well, I'm locked into the eighties, not much after about 1995 really flaps my flares so to speak.
Go on then guys, chuck in your predictions.

I thought the GPz900r would become a collectors bike, show's what my predictions are like :-/

That's a strange one I reckon. They are sort after and collectable for some, but haven't really taken off. They were universally praised on release and were great bikes at the time, not to mention fast, so what's happened?BRG1200 wrote:I thought the GPz900r would become a collectors bike, show's what my predictions are like :-/

Re: RZ500
It's a great debate trying to pick the future classics I reckon. There's enough argument out there for current second hand bikes, but trying to pick and brand new one, that's hard.Gazzah wrote:How about the Repsol Honda Cbr1000rr's ? or the last model gsxr750's when they stop making them?
One of the issues of course is that generally collectors want the first ever model, not the last and there's not many bikes out there at the moment that are brand new models, they're all revisions of bikes that date back years. Perhaps if you found a first year BMW S1000R or aprilia V4 1000 (whatever it's called) or maybe the new Ducati Panigale then one day a new in a crate one might be worth something? The problem is I couldn't be any less interested in any of those bikes and a big bloody box sitting in the corner of the garage would mean I couldn't squeeze another '80's bike in the garage.....
