y'see, this is the thing... The site is about the things I do, and I do them cos they look or work good... you see where this is going? hmm... LOL!

Just drill 4 holes, use the later guard bracket as template and then bolt it on to the plate and the plate on the forks.... easy as. looks crappy imho, but easy as...

Exactly why you need to do one of your excellently written articles!

Kidding aside I can't quite see how to seamlessly mate the original guard to the VD forks without hideous bracketry. Hmmm, ponder, ponder.

Tempting, I need to sort my 1983 front brakes out, I think I know where all the bits are, and the busy Mr Gailey has put all his recent works up to show how well it goes. It would cost a few bucks though. Will have to just put on my wish list!
Ex UK, now in Adelaide. LC250/350. DT175. Shed full of sh1t in the vague form of dismantled rusty RD’s and RZ’s.

Took it for a good ride today even though it was double demerits. I had to clutch start it again. Its been like this a couple of times lately but it soon fired and I was away. It was a grey and cool morning with a slight drizzle, the sort of weather the RZ seems to like best. It just purred up to 5000rpm and when I eventually got to open it up the beastie awoke and it went for it. There is nothing as sweet as a smooth 2 stroke running well. It also handled some heavy stralya day traffic. Late this afternoon I tried to kick it over after sitting for several hours and again it wouldn't start so I had to clutch start it down a hill, When it fired it felt a little rough on the short run home but then it never got hot. Im thinking it might be time to put in a new set of plugs to see if it remedies. The front brakes are alot better as the pads bed in but not as good as a modern bike and nowhere near doing stoppies. I'll planning on buying new pads and to give the calipers a good clean as I just whacked them on as they arrived in my excitement. Ive also got a set of Avons arriving this week which should improve things. As you can see in the pics the screen is quite cloudy. Ive tried to polish it with perspex cleaner but it goes cloudy again when it dries. Does anyone know of any remedy other than buying a new screen. From my research the cheapest seem to be from Norbo's store in England but I'm not sure how to order things from his website. Is this the best place to source a screen?

Some pics from todays ride.
