Found under a tarp
Found under a tarp
Hi Folks,
Thought Id post a picture of a project that thats recently come into my possesion. Long story but the 87 MC16 was found under a tarp down the side of a house and had been there for a few years ! I couldnt just leave there to slowly rot so made and offer and it came home with me. Luckily it had the fluids drained so the tank is in really good condition but engine condition is unknown. It looks much better in the photo than up close , but it is all complete. Hoping I may have rescued it just in time, its definately a pretty little bike.
Cheers

Well caught Gazzah, you should form a branch of the RSPCH
Ex UK, now in Adelaide. LC250/350. DT175. Shed full of sh1t in the vague form of dismantled rusty RD’s and RZ’s.

There's an RG250 near me, dying slowly in a back yard. You've spurred me to go and ask. Hope he doesn't want a kings ransom.

Hi BRG,
Doesnt hurt to ask.. he may be happy just to get rid of it, hopefully.
It could at least make a good spares bike.

Re: Found under a tarp
Nice bike, the fuel tank looks like a little bean sitting on top with that colour scheme.. In that photo. Perhaps it's the stand pushing up the rear and the huge side covers.
Re: Found under a tarp
The sidecovers are huge, I never realised it before but Honda made the MC16 a very close copy to the legendary Freddies 1985 250 gp bike.
A replica would be nice....... ( just slapped myself !)

Cool Ad, but I dont think they featured any of their 2 strokers in it unfortunately.
Re: Found under a tarp
I kinda wish hey'd pulled their finger out with two strokes, a mate made the point he other day that if they'd gone the whole hog with the NS400 and made a good 500 out of it we'd have a trio of legendary 2T classic 500's rather than only the RG and RZ
