And if you interstaters come to Qld and want to join in the fun please respond too!

For people who say that want input to the 'discussion' paper, its a PITA to get to the actual paper. But yes we should all get in on this stuff.

The qld government asking the people for input? Hahahahahahaha! That's an oxymoron right there.

Consultations usually have a predetermined answer.
Sorry, can't seem to unplug my cynicism circuits this morning.

That link didn't work for me, I'll try this one
https://www.getinvolved.qld.gov.au/gi/c ... /view.html

Damn I am seeing a whole heap of complete f(*&ing crotch rocket morons on the roads lately. The risk and speed of lane filtering on the gateway and gympie vs the almost certain death resulting from a 100mm change in space just leaves me shaking my head in disbelief!
Is it just me or is it getting worse? And i'm talking lane filtering at well over the speed limit through moving traffic (60k+)

Better to say your piece and have nobody listen... than to sit back, say fuck all and complain about the outcome!

Filled it out the other day, cant hurt, also just off the top of my head,, listening to the radio the other day there considering changes to helmet laws here as well (QLD). That is the standards. Apparently 1 of the reasons helmets are so expensive here is they have to past our tests after they have already passed the tests in say Europe and the US. It seems the main reason our standards committee are against it is they will loose their jobs. If they are cheaper riders can afford better helmets and change them more often. Will have to see if there's an outcome from all this..

Yep, even if a helmet passes DOT certification (which is apparently tougher than ours), they still have to pass our tests too, which is stupid.

Don't be cynical you're right - but I am hoping from the way the consultation is crafted it's in our favour unless there is a massive negative stink.

You usually only consult to check that there is no political damage from the proposed change (yes I work in government) otherwise you leave the elctorate alone.

Also given it's buried and launched on the quiet....... Get my idea huh huh huh....
