Erratic Whining noise?

Post by jools »

(Not referring to the dragon)
Thanks Jon -your (standard) coil has got the RZ running again. Here's a pic of it. I painted it silver as I had the colour on the shelf, the tank is original paint, maybe one day I'll spray the plastics to original colours.
Anyway...
Rzipper will chime in here hopefully, (we share the bike) because he's heard the noise and will hopefully describe it.

Thats great mate!

Usually that whining noise is my other half wondering why the bank account is empty and the garage is full... LOL!

Is the noise present when your stopped? or only when your riding? I had a whinning noise that ended up being my speedo. A few drops of sowing machine oil into the speedo drive inlet stopped the noise.

I would go the other way and paint the tank - silver grey is classy 8)

Yes, good thought gman, I had that with a CX not long ago, but that was easily located by ear 'cos it came from the tacho head. This noise seems to be coming from the engine, but Rzipper needs to get online to describe the noise. First he needs to tell us if it's revs related or roadspeed related, -that'd tell us something useful.
Ah, he's probably down the pub!!!!
(More likely putting the kids to bed)

And can't disagree... the silver looks pretty cool, (yours very tasty) mine's quite a big flake, -almost but not too lairy!
