RZ500 ENGINE REBUILD

Post by maccashaz »

HELP- I am rebuilding 2 x 1985 RZ500's. i have stripped the engine on one and the other was already in pieces.
Qusetion- does anyone know which way the balance between the the cranks go- the manual only mentions a painted mark onit which a new one would have, but a good used one has the painted mark washed off by oil after 20 odd years of use.
Does it matter- i am sure it would because of vibrations and timing.
any helpwould be most appreciated.

I also have a tank for sale- not bad condition, no rust holes but definetly needs a good cleanand paint. i would treat inside of tank for buyer if required.
Thanks
ian

Not sure which manual you're looking at, but there are no painted surfaces required.

Hi Terry,
Yeh I do. if you like ill get a couple of photos and email to you.
it is missing cap ( sort of- i have it but it is damaged and very badly corroded) and pet-cock.
$50.00 as is plus freight- brisbane i would get to you for $0 probably,
or $175.00 if you want me to treat the inside.
