preparing rd250lc to run premix

Post by pete »

 Hi all.
Just a quick question regarding removal of oil tank/lines and pump from my lc250.I have a blanking plate for the oil pump already, but what about the shaft?......does that just come out,or do i have to do other stuff ?.......also,do i just blank off the carb oil feed lines?......sick of leaky, filthy 2 stroke oil leakin all over my nice garage floor, will hopefully go to premix real soon.Any help much appreciated.

Remove the shaft and gear from the inside of the engine casing and plug the oil inlet holes in the carbs. If this is on a street bike it will be a pain in the ass mixing premix all the time. I would just get new oil lines and stop the oil leaking on the floor.

Thanx EPA,i just get a little paranoid at times,30 year old oil pumps, maybe not working.......big bang !!!!........obviously works though, oil on the ground a fair indication.Pump worx, can see lines[clear tubes].Pump gasket[behind pump, has now been replaced[today],may just settle down[me]not the bike.........all is good.
