Help ME!!!

Post by Smokey »

Hi,

Haven't posted here in a while, been trying to get the bike going :(

It runs, but then again it doesn't...

The bike had not been ridden for some months.

I have siphoned the fuel out and filled with 10L of shell 98.

It starts fine on choke, but periodically cuts out, if i push choke back in, it will run for a bit then start do drop[ in revs till it dies. if i quickly pull the choke back out the revs lift again.

Now, that said, even if the choke is out it will still eventually drop and die...

I do not know what to do, i have exhausted my knowledge....

It seems that the bike is only running on the right cylinder, but im not 100%

im going to get new plugs and try again...

Any ideas?

Fuel lines or carbs ??
Sounds like spark isnt the issue, but air / fuel mixture.
Clean out both possibly ?

It seems to be getting fuel,

I drained the float bowls after the last run and there was fuel in there... i might pull the carbies off tomorrow and give them a good clean...

what bike is it i know the rz carbs are annoying for this when the carbs are all gummed up inside, cleaning the pilot jets and a service really helps as the pilot jets are so tiny

Clean the carbs, just because there is fuel in there doesnt mean it can get out.

Well,

It's fixed :)

Took the carbs apart, cleaned them. Replaced the plugs, and re-ran some new fuel lines :)

Runs quite well now :)

However, the right exhaust pipe sounds louder than the left?

What is up with that?

Do you leave it on the side stand all the time, or use the center stand ?

Side stand. Oil in exhaust? The baffles have been removed as well.
