Ive seen 250's going quicker than 350's around Oran pk, both competant riders.
Beauty about the 250 barrels is that there is more meat on the transfers than the 350..........................so you can do a lot more porting.

i think 40 is pretty good for a 250lc, a tzr250 makes only 45 suposidly and there is a world of difference in engine developement...hpr figures are always confusing tho..and dont think they mean too much..if track time is the concern it can be more about how it makes the power , not just how much

Depends on the rider better riders can handle peakier engines, as they have the balls and ability to ride at 100% ,100% of the time. As we drop down the greasy pole more midrange is needed, think of how a beginer who will only uses the first 20% of throttle.twinrock wrote:i think 40 is pretty good for a 250lc, a tzr250 makes only 45 suposidly and there is a world of difference in engine developement...hpr figures are always confusing tho..and dont think they mean too much..if track time is the concern it can be more about how it makes the power , not just how much
Most manufacturers quote crank figures, German dynos give figures in which losses are accounted for and added onto the rear wheel figure.
What really matters is the shape of the curve and the area under the line

It's the greasy pole again the further up you go the more it matters. But even at MotoGP level they still talk about 'midrange'.Go figure
A 125 is a purpose built race bike not a converted road bike, while they are 'only' 125cc but they only weight 75kgs.
